Army painting

Tue Oct 6, 2009, 1:38 PM
I have come up with a genious new way for myself and a freind to be able to buy all the awsome new armys from GW that we cant afford and make a bit of cash of it as we go along.. :D
Basically, we buy a small army and paint it following GW giudes very closely to get a great looking uniform force :P Then, wack it on Ebay with a nice price. The first one were doing is Space Wolves, and ill be ordering the models on Friday night. So fingers crossed work starts next week. Our aim is that the models will all be of high standard, above gaming standard but not quite Eavy meatl LoL :P Heres a list of the first project.

Canis Wolfborn
Rune priest (the new one)
5 termies
10 grey hunters
5 sky claws
10 fenrisian wolfs

Once theyre done, Skaven, then nids then beasts then whatever the future beholds! XD

  • Mood: Miserable
  • Listening to: Flyleaf: Red Sam
  • Reading: Jock of the Bushveld
  • Watching: an apple go brown
  • Playing: nothing atm
  • Eating: nothing, the apples too brown
  • Drinking: cold beer

I am a keen painter and sculptor, and I have been painting/colecting for 2 years now. I have only recently started sculpting, using games-workshop models as bases, and turning them into totaly different things :D My real inspiration to get sculpting was the build, and I hope that I too will be able to make models like his. And my eyes arent always like that! I was surprised :P

You have some interesting projects going on here! I can see Rich's (`Thebuild) influence in a few of these ;)
I particularly like the large Bloodletter,thats a nice,unique idea.
I would suggest that you should try painting things glued together though,i find doing it in bits is more effort than its worth! And having the bits in place means you can see where the shadows fall a lot more accurately...

The arms were in the same stages of painting, but they arent glued on properly yet. They stay by them selves well enough, i shall put on some more pics of him when hes finished. I am also doing three more large models, one for each chaos god. The plaguebearer will be no problem atall, i have ideas for a horror, but it wont be easy, and im stumped on a base for a daemonette.. :S

I understand you can paint things in pieces, but it'd be no good for the way i paint lol
Hmm...well,so far,all i could suggest is getting a Keeper of Secrets and cutting it up to make it bigger...
